Replicating the ground-breaking approach used within the emergency services' strategic command training in responding to major incidents, it provides you with a sophisticated means to monitor and evaluate real-time leadership and decision making in exacting and highly realistic business scenarios and then plan for future success.
Highly flexible, Immerse™ can be used to teach, to develop or to evaluate at all levels in your organisation. It can be used for both individuals and teams and can be integrated into existing training and development programmes or form the basis of new development strategies.
As each intervention is bespoke, we take your individual business objectives and your competencies or career development frameworks in order to create an event which is relevant and will achieve lasting results. Our effective simulations all consist of four key elements: realistic practice, choice, consequence and performance based feedback.
How does it work?
Delegates are divided into teams comprising 4 to 7 members. The teams operate within syndicate rooms monitored via CCTV and boundary microphones (all our hardware is portable). We set up the business scenario (created in collaboration with the client) using written information, for example: management e-mails, staff briefing documents, and press releases; and visual information for example, video clips of actors or actual company executives conveying information.
Scenarios are developed from within a central control room, where delegates can be seen and heard at all times via the CCTV. As the scenario unfolds "real-time", we deliberately expose delegates to 'slow burn' tasks (for example, the analysis of commercial, financial, legal and transactional data) and 'fast burn' tasks (issuing a press release, or briefing senior management).
In response to the delegate's activity we increase the pace and the pressure of the unfolding scenario, injecting new information, challenges and issues to respond to using the sophisticated multi-media store of information that can at any point be communicated to the teams. This might be an urgent client call, an email, newspaper headline or even a "breaking news" multimedia clip that we have created.
A plenary room also exists, in which the teams are brought together at different stages during the simulation for meetings, debriefings and general discussions regarding decisions made and the unfolding scenario. This can be led by our own expert facilitators or senior members of the client so they are significantly involved in the outcomes and development.
